Not a stadium group
I have been a fan of Kenny Wayne Shepherd since first seeing them on the Sing Off competition. Their act has evolved into more bubble-gum pop, playing at large venues like the White River Amphitheatre (~15,000 attendance), greatly reducing the experience for me. Once before, I saw them in concert at the WA State Fair, which was a great show. A five-voice a cappela group simply doesn't have the amperage and musical energy necessary for such an enormous venue, especially one like White River where the sound system is inferior. The show was surely great for those in the first few rows, but for the other 14,000 of us, the sound was thin and the camera work for the monitor displays was laughably amateurish (they showed footage of the ground at one point as a cameraman repositioned and the director failed to cut away for like 30 seconds). The new bass vocalist is a fraction of the talent of the band member he replaced. Aside from a few classics like Hallelujah, the new pop tunes were boring. Their talents really shine in a small venue - I'd recommend waiting to see PTX there.
